What is nitrous oxide?
Nitrous oxide is a sedative that is also known as laughing gas or nitrous. It is a chemical compound with nitrogen and oxide. It will not harm you. At room temperature, it is a colorless non-flammable gas that has a slight flavor. It is typically released through a gas mask. The mask will be placed over your nose during treatment and will continually send the nitrous into your system.
How will nitrous oxide make me feel?
As you inhale the gas, it will make you feel tingly and light headed. Most importantly, it will help you feel calm and relaxed during your appointment.
How long will the effects last?
The effects will last for the duration of the treatment. Once the mask is turned off and taken off your nose, the effects will quickly disappear. You should be able to drive home after treatment.
